A unique, ski-in, ski-out resort, perfect for serious snow sports fans.
- High-end hamlet with luxury, ski-in, ski-out hotels, exclusive to Crystal customers.
- Stunning scenery and snow-sure skiing in our second highest resort in Austria, at 2,090m.
- Party the night away in nearby Sölden, renowned for après, or spend a relaxed evening in Höchsolden’s Skybar.
It doesn’t get more snow-sure in the Alps than here, and first tracks are pretty much guaranteed thanks to the hamlet’s location above the busier resort of Sölden – just step out your door in the morning and cruise down 8km of untouched, freshly-groomed pistes to the lifts. If you’re a beginner, you’ll definitely need to sign up for ski school as the ski-in, ski-out runs are tricky for those who don’t know what they’re doing. But intermediates and experts can immediately take advantage of the lack of crowds and lift queues.
With just a handful of hotels, and not much else, this is a resort for those who want to spend a full day on the mountain and then simply relax in the evenings. The hotels offer traditional Tyrolean hospitality and high-quality accommodation – plus many of them have wellness areas and gorgeous indoor pools. Even better, every hotel is ski-in, ski-out so no matter where you choose to stay, you’ll be on the slopes in seconds.
Amenities are very limited here – apart from the rental shops, pretty much everything is down in Sölden, but it’s easy enough to get there for shopping or après. If you don’t want to ski, you can hop on the shuttle bus which runs several times a day, or catch a taxi for around €20. However, there are some great hotel restaurants and bars in Hochsölden, including the incredible Skybar, which has a huge range of drinks and the best views in resort.
Speaking of views, the scenery of Hochsölden is simply superb. It’s prime location on the mountain lets you see over Sölden and all the way to Obergurgl and Hochgurgl – plus, the sunrises and sunsets are truly stunning on clear days.
