Travel information

Everything you need to know to get your ski holiday off to a smooth start

Check in

Get to the airport with plenty of time to spare:

  • 2 hours prior to departure if you're travelling to Europe
  • 3 hours prior to departure if you're travelling to the USA and Canada
  • Check with your airline if you're unsure

In-flight meals

If you're flying with TUI, you can make the most of the on-board café services – choose from hot and cold drinks as well as light bites or more substantial snacks. Plus, there's a range of healthy and vegetarian options*. Simply take your pick from the menu and order from a member of the cabin crew.

Subject to availability.

* TUI are unable to accommodate special dietary requirements.

Other airlines

If you're flying with another airline, please check the details of your booking to find out whether meals are included. If you have any particular dietary requirements for your in-flight meal, contact us on 01 653 3510. We'll do everything we can to accommodate any special request that you make. However, requests cannot be guaranteed and do not form part of your confirmed holiday contract.

Pre-book your seating

If you're flying with TUI, you can pre-book your seating for €17 return per adult and €9 per child – allowing you and your party to sit together*.

When you book online, you'll get the option to add this to your holiday. Unfortunately, due to technical limitations, you won't be able to pick a particular seat but your party will be together.

Once you've chosen your seats, you won't be able to change it. However, in some circumstances, TUI may have to change your seat for operational, safety or security reasons. The Select Your Seat service is provided using the Civil Aviation Authority guidelines and, therefore, certain requirements must be satisfied before TUI can allocate seats near the exit. If TUI do have to change your seat, they'll try to keep it as close to what you booked as possible.

*Seats together may be across an aisle or behind each other.

Flight delays

If your flight to or from your destination is delayed, we'll do our best to ensure that you're properly informed of updates and that any waiting time is as comfortable as possible.

We provide free text message updates whenever there are serious delays. If you have not provided your mobile phone number during the booking process, please contact us with your booking reference and the mobile number you would like us to add to your booking details. Your mobile number will only be used for service updates and not for marketing purposes.

In the event of a flight delay that exceeds 3 hours:

In conjunction with your airline, we will endeavour to provide light refreshments.

In the event of a flight delay that exceeds 5 hours:

In conjunction with your airline, we will endeavour to provide light refreshments and a main meal, depending on local circumstances.

In the event of an extended delay:

We'll do our best to make arrangements for overnight accommodation for you and your party. We're there to help and support along the way, keeping you informed of any updates. Please make sure that you provide us with your mobile phone number and we'll send you a text message update.

Flight compensation

Valid travel insurance for the whole duration of your stay is a requirement of going on holiday with us.

If you're affected by delays, you may be able to reclaim the costs against your travel insurance, depending on your policy. Before you depart, we recommend you check your travel insurance policy carefully to ensure you have the appropriate level of cover in place.

Please note that we may not always be aware of delays on some scheduled or internal flights. In this case, and where possible, your airline will provide welfare in the form of refreshments or accommodation, in line with the length of the delay.

If you're travelling in the USA or Canada utilising connecting flights and experience a delay, please phone your Crystal rep or the relevant Area Office to inform us of your amended travel details.

For full details about your flights and transfers, please read through our Transport Information terms and conditions carefully.
