  • So what's it like?

Originally built as a traditional farmhouse in 1722, Langley’s Hotel La Vieille Ferme is a great choice for a historical, cultural and classical stay in Serre Chevalier. The hotel is the most charming and rustic hotel in Langley’s portfolio, having retained much of its original structure, meaning that every bedroom is unique in character and style.

The interior décor marries the best of Provencal and Italian design, which creates a cosy, homely atmosphere throughout. The rooms are comfortable and simply yet elegantly decorated.

The restaurant is a sight in itself, too. Located in a vaulted room, the restaurant feels rural yet sophisticated, and the floor lighting really adds to the ambience. Several times a week, the restaurant opens their rotisserie. On these nights, food is cooked over an open fire – a tradition the locals have done for centuries.

The hotel itself is located on a small hill, just above the charming village of Villeneuve, and only a 10-minute walk from the centre of Serre Chevalier. The ski lift is quite close, too, so you’ll be up on the mountain in no time.

    What's Included

The Hotel La Vieille Ferme is found on a narrow lane lined with traditional country farmhouses. At the end of the lane is the Rue de la Guisane, where you’ll find Bar Loco Loco and a selection of restaurants, as well as a Sherpa supermarket. Each morning you’ll only have to walk 6 minutes to both the Mickey and Aravet lifts, which are found just across the main road in town. The Aravet lift is a better choice for those wanting to access the wider ski area, or fancy exploring the villages of Briançon and Monetier-les-Bains. At the end of the day, head back down the Aravet green run or the L’Aiche Mickey blue run to get back to the hotel.

    · 6 minutes' walk from Aravet lift · 5-10 minutes' walk from resort centre · 10-15 minutes' walk from ski school meeting point · 2 minutes' walk from ski bus stop · 5 minutes' walk from nursery slopes

With all the various national tourist boards applying widely varying criteria to hotel ratings, the whole question of international hotel grades has become confused. We have therefore applied our own 'rating', representing the general standards of that country in order that fairer comparisons can be made.

Please note: rating may differ from the official star rating of the local tourist board. Our classifications take into account not only the basic facilities, but also the location, leisure facilities, general character and atmosphere of the hotel, as well as customer feedback. Chalet ratings give comparisons with other chalets but do not provide like for like comparisons with the ratings of full service hotels.
