  • So what's it like?

Affording exceptional mountain views, and close to the pistes in the Grand Massif, is the Hotel Le Flaine. This listed building, famous for its avant-garde design, sits in the centre of the resort, close to many shops and bars.

The 72 comfortable, spacious and functional bedrooms are ideal for families, friends and couples who want a great-value holiday in the centre of this French mountain resort.

As well as the stylish bar and lounge area, with its real wood-burning fireplace that stands in the centre of the room, there’s a range of onsite facilities that all ages can enjoy. The adults, for example, can take advantage of the modern spa area, complete with a sauna, hammam and whirlpools.

You won’t have to worry about breaking the bank to feed the family either. At the Hotel Le Flaine you’ll get varied buffets both in the morning and evening, and even complimentary wine or fruit juice with your dinner. And so you can really immerse yourself into the local culture, once a week you’ll be treated to a traditional Savoyard dinner with fondue or raclette – yum.

And the best bit? Crystal Childcare clubs are based inside the hotel. Run by UK-qualified staff, children aged between 6 months and 4 years can spend their days at Pepi Penguin, getting stuck into a range of activities from singing to painting to snowman making – while you spend time on the piste. The older children, aged 4-8 years, can enrol in Beanie Bear Club, which includes ski lessons in the mornings and fun-filled afternoons.

Just so you know, check-in isn't until 6pm. However, you can leave your bits and bobs in the hotel's luggage room while you head out to explore the resort.

At the end of the day, you can take the Pin and Erable green runs back down towards the hotel, or if you fancy a challenge then the Celestine red run is a good option.

    Health and safety advice

Please note that safety standards around balconies, railings and public walkways are different in France and may be lower or have ornamental features that you wouldn’t see in the UK or Ireland.

For your own safety and that of everyone you’re travelling with, please make sure you take care not to lean on or over any railings. If you have children under 12 years, please make sure they’re supervised and not left alone at any time.

    Families

The Hotel Le Flaine is host to Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club, which are open to all children staying at the hotel.

Pepi Penguin Nursery (6 months - 4 years) is run by our UK-qualified childcare staff and held in a dedicated room equipped with games and toys. Outdoor play included (weather and parental consent permitting).

    What's included:

    • Full day care from 8.30am to 5pm
    • 2-course hot lunch
    • Snacks and drinks throughout the day
    • A daily routine and activities report for your child
Activities vary daily. We'll find time for stories, singing, arts and crafts including painting and collage making, plus messy play in the sand tray and free play with age-relevant toys set out for the children to choose what they want to do.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe snowy walks, a gondola ride or snow painting. And if your child is used to a sleep, we'll factor that in too.

Beanie Bear Club (4-8 years) provides plenty of fun-filled days as our childcare staff offer a combination of care and skiing, which includes 6 x AM ski lessons, pick-up and drop-off from ski lessons, lunch and afternoon care by Crystal staff in the dedicated Beanie Bear Club room.

    What’s included:
    • Full day care from 8.30am to 5pm
    • 6 x AM ski lessons, ski school drop-offs and pick-ups*
    • Child skis, boots and helmet hire
    • 2-course hot lunch
    • Snacks and drinks throughout the day
    * Lift passes aren't included as each child's needs are different. If and when your child feels confident enough to use the lifts, you'll need to buy a lift pass locally.

Activities vary daily – to include games, arts and crafts and storytime – and are often based around a theme.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe bus bingo, snowman competitions or a treasure hunt.

Both Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club operate for 6 days and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place. Evening clubs are also available to book in resort for an extra charge.

All our staff are UK-qualified, English-speaking and first-aid trained, and have had DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and reference checks. And we prioritise maintaining the correct adult:child ratios.

Please note, all childcare is an extra charge and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place. In some instances, childcare does not extend the full length of the ski season. Please contact the sales team for additional information.

Ratings

With all the various national tourist boards applying widely varying criteria to hotel ratings, the whole question of international hotel grades has become confused. We have therefore applied our own 'rating', representing the general standards of that country in order that fairer comparisons can be made.

Please note: rating may differ from the official star rating of the local tourist board. Our classifications take into account not only the basic facilities, but also the location, leisure facilities, general character and atmosphere of the hotel, as well as customer feedback. Chalet ratings give comparisons with other chalets but do not provide like for like comparisons with the ratings of full service hotels.

Your package price and availability

Our website's prices and flight, accommodation and room availability are updated every morning. To calculate average price per person, applicable discounts are subtracted from your total cost, which is then divided by the number of adults and children (excluding infants). A full price breakdown can be viewed on the payment page.

In some circumstances, prices and availability may update during the day so you may find price/availability differences later in the booking process.

This is usually due to high demand for the selected holiday. Should you have any issues with this, please contact us or see here for more information.
