The impressive English-speaking ski school (voted as one of the best in Europe) and easy nursery slopes on the Pla dels Espiolets at the middle station will ensure fast progression to the long, sweeping runs from Solana del Forn.
With predominantly red and blue runs, Soldeu is a great resort for intermediates. Try skiing the Riba Escorxada valley, known as the ‘Bowl’.
Take advantage of your Grandvalira pass and ski the whole area. Test your off-piste skills in Grau Roig, or bash down the bumps to Soldeu village on the ‘Llebre’ or ‘Avet’ runs.
When you can no longer see your tracks in the snow, head over to Grau Roig, a much more unspoilt part of the mountain that offers the freedom to explore alongside spectacular views. A bit closer to home, between El Tarter and Canillo, are six lift-served unpisted itinerary runs for you to get stuck into.
Grandvalira is the largest rideable area in Andorra with 193km of well-linked terrain and plenty of natural terrain for freeriders and freestylers. Said to be the home of snowboarding in the Pyrenees, there are two permanant boardercross tracks and the legendary Snowpark El Tarter, complete with different levels of rails, jumps, boxes and a halfpipe. With a length of 1.3km, the park hosts a range of competitions including the Grandvalira Total Fight. And with wide, gentle slopes served by chairlifts, Soldeu is the perfect resort for beginners.
