All ski areas surround the 30 mile long turquoise lake and are within an hour's drive from South Lake Tahoe. The Lake Tahoe Pass is fantastic value for money as an area pass covering Heavenly, Sierra, Kirkwood, Alpine Meadows, Mt Rose, Squaw Valley and Northstar.
