A premier ski resort with lively après ski
Considered by many to be the world's premier ski resort, Val d'Isère is hard to fault, offering some of France’s best skiing together with exciting après ski. The resort links to Tignes and forms the ‘Espace Killy’, one of the most varied ski areas in Europe making it a true skier’s paradise. Off the slopes the nightlife is hard to beat with lively bars and the famous 'Dick's Tea Bar'.
Ski Information Beginners
With its continued popularity amongst British skiers, you’ll find that English is widely spoken in this very social Alpine resort. Beginners will appreciate the modern ski lift system, with easy-to-use chair lifts and very few drag lifts to contend with. The highly recommended ski school is voted in the top five French ski schools every year by Crystal customers. Complete beginners will get started at the base area close to resort, then quickly progress to exploring the heart of the Espace Killy ski area confidently on a wide selection of easy green runs. It is hard not to take inspiration from watching top athletes training and competing in resort events during the season, not to mention the infamous Men’s downhill Olympic slope, the ultimate goal for motivation.
Ski Information Intermediates
A true intermediates' paradise, Val d'Isère is big-time skiing country. From the gentle cruising blue and red runs of the Bellevarde and La Daille sectors to the Le Fornet glacier and the massive ski domain of Tignes and La Grande Motte, there is endless choice at every level.
Ski Information Advanced
Val d'Isère must be included in every list of the best skiing in Europe for its giant moguls, steep black runs, couloirs and not least for its sensational off-piste. Try the Olympic Men's Downhill run, the waist-high Solaise bumps just above the village or the powder bowls of the Tour de Charvet.
