Great variety in a huge ski area
Flaine is a superb family resort with a short transfer and our full range of Crystal childcare in Flaine Forum, the traffic free centre of the resort. At the heart of the fantastic ‘Grand Massif’, with over 265kms of dazzling ski runs this large, varied ski area has plenty to offer all levels of skier and is renowned for excellent snow conditions and sunny days. Les Carroz is a traditional French village well linked to the ‘Grand Massif’.
Ski Information Beginners
Flaine has always been popular with those new to skiing. It gets even better this year with the addition of two new drag lifts, adding a further three long easy green runs to its already large choice of beginner slopes. It’s ideally set up for beginners thanks to the nursery slopes being right by the resort. The bowl-like ski area means it’s tough to get lost – all runs lead back to resort. A rare treat for beginners is the opportunity to take the main gondola to experience the stunning views of Mont Blanc, and then ski back to resort via a network of accessible green and blue runs. Our chosen ski school, offering one of the most affordable learn to ski packages (including lessons, lift pass and ski rental), will have you improvin in no time.
Ski Information Intermediates
The range of skiing for intermediates is first class, with an extensive lift system and huge choice of challenging pistes. The red slopes in the Flaine bowl are perfect for improving your skills, whilst the runs leading to the neighbouring resorts follow narrow tree-lined trails. From long motorway cruising to mogul fields, there is plenty to keep you occupied!

Expert skiers will relish the awaiting opportunities, with endless off-piste trails in addition to 265kms of pisted runs. Taxing black runs include the Diamond Noir, Styx and the wooded run down to Samoens or try the off-piste in the Gers Bowl.
