NEW to the Crystal Ski programme for winter 11/12 is the ski area of Silvretta Montafon. Part of the Montafon Valley, close to the Swiss boarder, the valley as a whole boasts 243kms of well-groomed pistes, of which 152kms is made up of the two Silvretta Montafon mountains - Nova and Hochjoch. Offering a variety of pistes to suit all abilities and fantastic facilities for children, it is also home to Austria's biggest snowboard park. Choose from challenging steep runs, gentle hills or deep powder slopes - there's plenty to keep everyone busy. The villages of Shruns and Gaschurn are an ideal base for exploring the area and offer a traditional Austrian feel with a stunning mountain backdrop.
Ski Information Beginners
The Silvretta Montafon ski area is now the largest in the Vorarlberg. In this ski area there are some great blue runs to help build confidence, including the longest run the area the Hochjoch Total also includes one of the longest ski tunnels at 476m.
Ski Information Intermediates
The Silvretta Montafon valley is haven for intermediate skier and snowboarders. With plenty of wide open red and blue runs - perfect for improving your technique.
Ski Information Advanced
The 6 most difficult and steep slopes and ski routes in Silvretta Montafon are called 'The Black Scorpions'. The scorpion runs have a maximum gradient up to 80%. Nova steep slope and Schwarköpfle runs are some of the most challenging in the area. There are also some good off piste options available. The Nova mountain is home to one of the largest board parks in Austria.

Sunday Ski Guiding: Be shown around the mountain by a local experts and get some inside information to make to most out of your week Monday Park Tour: For skier and snowboarders wanting to try the park, why not join in the park tour? Join the experts to aquire the useful theoretical knowledge and to make the first ride in one of the biggest parks in Europe (min age 12 yrs) Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday Tobogganing: join the fun on the floodlit toboggan track as you shoot down the 5.5km back into the valley - brilliant fun for all ages. Wednesday Hochjoch Total: take the exclusive 7.00am lift to the top of the longest run in the valley, and enjoy the fresh tracks. On the way up warm up with a steaming cup of tea and then enjoy the perfect pistes down to a traditional restaurant for a hearty breakfast. Friday Nova Exclusive: take the lift up with your guide at 7.00am and enjoy the fresh tracks down to the Stoba restaurant for breakfast. Daily Piste Basher Driving: take control of one of these huge machines and have a go at grooming the slopes ready for the mornings skiing.
