Families, skiers & boarders - an all round winner!
The picturesque village of Scheffau enjoys a spectacular setting in the foothills of the towering Wilder Kaiser mountains. The resort is linked to, and is actually one of the best starting-points for, the huge Ski Welt circuit - Austria's largest, fully integrated, ski area with 279kms of runs. The mountain bowl above Scheffau provides some of the best snow conditions in the area. It is also a great place to learn to ski or board with wide, gentle runs and modern lifts. Children will love the 'KinderKaiserland' ski area - the perfect place to make their first tracks on skis. It is no wonder that many Crystal customers return to this area year after year!

Ski information
Ski Information Beginners
The nursery slopes are situated at the top of the Brandstadl gondola. Wide, gentle runs give the perfect setting for learning to ski. Daredevil novices may even find the home run back to the valley floor manageable by the end of the week.
Ski Information Intermediates
The Brandstadl gondola is the access point for intermediate skiers onto the Ski Welt circuit, with a fantastic range of scenic runs fanning out in every direction from the summit. The area pass covers 93 lifts in total - even the most adventurous intermediate should find a different challenge every day.
Ski Information Advanced
Expert skiers will find plenty to choose from both on and off-piste. For an end of day challenge, try the Moderer run. Unpisted, this can provide excellent powder at the top, followed by a challenging mogul field before a final sweep down to the valley floor.

Pepi Penguin Club (6 months - 4 years)
The Pepi Penguin Club takes children from 6 months to 4 years incl. Full day care is recommended as the ski bus does not operate 12noon - 2pm and lunch is not included with afternoon care. Our childcare team have a range of different activities to keep your little ones entertained, including, arts and crafts, games, outdoor play and much more! Whizz Kids Club (4-11 years)
Whizz Kids Club for non-skiing children takes children from 4-11 years. Full day care is recommended as the ski bus does not operate 12noon - 2pm and lunch is not included with afternoon care. There are lots of fun games, toys, indoor and outdoor play for your young ones to enjoy as well as the fantastic Crystal 'Whizzclusive' is available for all skiing children from 4 years as they take to the slopes. This includes care from 8.30am-5.00pm with 6 days ski lessons (2hrs AM & PM) and pick up and drop off at ski school and care at the end of the day in Whizz Kids Club once ski lessons have finished.
Based in the Hotel Land Alpin, Pepi and Whizz Kids Clubs are available to all guests staying in Scheffau and the hotel is easily accessible from the centrally located hotels. Places must be pre-booked - please call reservations on 01 4331080. Scheffau is a great place for your children to learn to ski. You can be sure your children will get top class tuition at Scheffau's fun 'KinderKaiserland' ski school area, located at the top of the main Scheffau gondola. If you're keen for your child to try skiing from the earliest age, the ski school also offers tuition for children 2-3 years incl. These special classes take place at lunchtime, for just 45 minutes each day - just enough for little legs to get a taste of skiing fun. Skis are included and children will need warm, waterproof boots (not ski boots).Snow Savers
