So what's it like?
Alpendorf is a small Alpine village set just above the town of St. Johann in Pongau and offers direct access into the extensive Salzburger Sportwelt ski area. Alpendorf is linked to the ski area of Wagrain and from there a short bus ride takes you into the Flachau ski area opening up another 111km of piste. This is an extensive area with a good variety of terrain to suit all types of skier. At the bottom of the Alpendorf ski lifts there are bars offering traditional Austrian après ski to finish your day in perfect style.

Ski Information Beginners
Alpendorf is an excellent destination for beginners with uncrowded, confidence building runs. Progressing on to the larger area of Salzburger Sportwelt gives you plenty of variety of runs to gently build your ability and confidence.
Ski Information Intermediates
From Alpendorf you can access the Salzburger Sportwelt straight from the doorstep and leads you into a great intermediate area. Alpendorf and Waigrain offer some great, long red runs and Flachau is a superb area for intermediates with 111km of skiing to choose from.
Ski Information Advanced
Although best for intermediates, there are 2 black runs from the top of the Hirschkogel above Alpendorf and also don't forget to test yourself on the World Cup run in Flachau.
